Personal: Charley is a native South Carolina. He worked with Westinghouse Electric and General Electric as a Health Systems Consultant on several DOD projects. Texas Tech University Health Science Center brought Charley and his family to Lubbock in 1975, and he later became director of Information Systems. About three years later, Charley joined the ranks of small business owners for twenty-three years. In 2001 the computer hardware and systems company and internet company were sold. Charley is married to Mary McKnight Camp (48 years) and has four children and five grandchildren. Mary is a Senior Sponsored Program Associate in the Research Services Department at Texas Tech University. Charley is an active Deacon at Second Baptist Church and serves on various committees. He has fifteen years of perfect attendance at Southwest Lubbock Rotary Club. Mary and Charley like travel, Yoga, and gourmet cooking.
